Manuel Antonio: Playa Espadilla

Manuel Antonio is a village situated on a ridge over the bays and beaches between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. It's about a 20 minute walk down to the beach but there's always the option of taking your car, a bus or a taxi.  National laws prohibiting beach construction has helped to preserve the area's natural beauty.

Playa Espadilla is the large light sand beach that gives way to the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean along with its many island and rock outcroppings.  At the south east end of the beach you'll find the village that sprung up at the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park.  While one of the smallest within the system of Costa Rica's parks, it is the second most visited and home to innumerable species of flora and fauna but which do include three types of monkeys and two types of sloth.  It's white sand beaches, trails, vistas make it a must see while staying at Casa Bosque Verde.

Playita

This "Little Beach" is a short hike over the rocks from the main beach.  It is best not to venture in or out of Playita an hour and a half to two hours before and after the high tides of the day.  Check our local tide charts to keep yourself safe for other pleasurable activities.

Mono Titi

Manuel Antonio has 3 types of monkeys and the Mono Titi or squirrel monkey is the most endanged species. Please help preserve the Mono Titi and other wild life by staying clear of their activities and by not falling into the temptation of feeding them.  We thank you and the monkeys thank you.
